Trump is Being Investigated For Bribery
Gimme a billion dollars and then drill, baby, drill
Would it surprise you to learn that Trump is under investigation for bribery and he’s not even president yet? Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), a nonprofit watchdog organization, has filed a complaint with the Justice Department and the FBI involving the infamous meetings Trump had with fossil fuel execs back in April.
You remember that meeting, right? Trump was running dangerously low on funds because of his obscenely high legal bills and thought he could solve his financial woes with a little quid pro quo with his buddies in the fossil fuel industry.
In exchange for $1 billion … yes, you read that right … $1 billion dollars, he promised the fossil fuel execs that he would lift the ban on permits for new liquefied natural gas exports on his first day in office, get rid of the new tailpipe emission limits designed to help the transition to electric vehicles, and offer more leases in the Gulf of Mexico for drilling.
All those goodies for a mere $1 billion. A bargain, if you ask me.
The execs are so excited about this that they are already drafting executive orders for Trump to sign on day one of his new term.
