Trump is Looking For a Running Mate Who Can Raise Big Money
He is desperate for cash as his legal bills mount
Trump has added a new requirement to his vice-presidential pick — the ability to raise (or contribute) tons of cash. To pay Trump’s legal bills, of course. He spent $50 million on legal fees last year and the trials hadn’t even started. It was just all motions flying around. This year, one trial has started and, if the Supreme Court rules against Trump and his ridiculous claim of total immunity, more trials could start this year.
So, let’s do a quick review of Trump’s criteria for a vice president. Rich. White. Male. Looks like a vice president.
Just a quick detour here. Trump doesn’t “hire” or “appoint” administration officials. He “casts” them. An important criteria for him is that the person must look like the part that they are being hired for. Generals must look like generals. The vice president must look like a vice president.
Trump also has to like their looks. He refused to hire John Bolton for years because of his moustache. Trump didn’t like the moustache, so he wouldn’t hire the man attached to it.
