Trump Keeps Flip Flopping on Abortion
Now he’s trying to have his cake and eat it too
Trump really screwed the pooch on the abortion issue, didn’t he? See, this is what happens when you run your own company, demanding complete loyalty from your employees. You can change your mind about anything, any time, and no one is going to call you out on it.
It will just be “yes, Mr. Trump, whatever you say Mr. Trump.” No one will dare to remind you that you said something completely different last week. At least, not if they want to keep their job.
But now that Trump is in the public realm, as gratifying as that is to his ego, there are all those pesky people who love to remind him that when he first considered running for president back in 1999, he boasted that he was pro-choice.
They also like to talk about his switch to being pro-life in 2016 and all of the promises he made to pro-life groups just to get elected. Shit like signing a national abortion ban, appointing conservative Supreme Court justices to overturn Roe v. Wade, defunding Planned Parenthood, and choosing a running mate who was pro-life.
That got him elected, but, man, that whole overturning Roe v. Wade thing didn’t quite work out as expected. So Trump flipped again, blaming the resulting abortion bans for the Republican losses…
