Trump May Not Be Inaugurated

Hey, ya know how I’m always saying that MAGA morons don’t think things through? They act on impulse without pausing a moment to consider the consequences of their actions. Whelp, they’ve done it again and this time it may cost Trump the presidency.

I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

Here’s what happened and may happen. Speaker Mike Johnson, the compromise candidate who took former Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s place after Matt Gaetz ousted him … are you following all of this?

Anyhoo, Johnson defied Trump and his MAGA horde and rammed through a compromise spending bill that didn’t address the debt limit to prevent the shutdown of the government right before Christmas. Trump didn’t want any bill passed that didn’t suspend the debt ceiling. He plans to run up some huge bills and doesn’t want his plans torpedoed by any spending limits.

So Trump and MAGA world are unhappy with Johnson and want him gone. There’s just one teeny weeny problem. The new Congress starts on January 3. First order of business is electing a new Speaker. The Speaker is the one who swears in the members of the House. No Speaker, no swearing in which means no House.

The swearing in has to be done by January 6 because … drumroll, please … both houses of Congress…
