The Speaker fight rages on
Oh my God, you guys. I can’t stop laughing. Remember four years ago when Trump was doing everything in his power, including an insurrection, to prevent the 2020 election from being certified?
Four years later and he is doing everything in his power to ensure that the 2024 election IS certified. And here I was wondering where Karma has been. Turns out she was just biding her time, waiting for the optimal moment to grab Trump by the balls and SQUEEZE.
Yeah, it wasn’t that long ago that Trump was badmouthing Speaker Johnson cuz he wanted to pass a bipartisan spending bill to keep the government open, ya know, for the good of the people. Trump, not caring about anything but himself, wanted the government shut down, or, at the very least, the debt ceiling raised or eliminated.
Santa did not bring him what he wanted and Trump was left sulking in his garish Mar-a-Lago residence. Someone must have had a little chat with the sulky baby and explained the whole Speaker/certification thing to him and pointed out that there are no good alternatives to Johnson.
Trump is completely shameless and has done a 180 on the issue. He is now Johnson’s biggest fan, writing on Truth Social:
