Trump Wants to Change the Way We Vote
Can he really do it?
Oh. Dear. Lord. It just doesn’t stop. Trump won the damn election. He won the popular vote. He won the Electoral College. And yet he STILL wants to change the way that our elections are conducted.
Which I’m pretty sure he can’t do, but we’ll get to that in a bit.
So, Trump was accepting his “Patriot of the Year Award” from Fox when he made a super short (for him) 10-minute speech which included his bit on changing how elections are held.
Let’s clarify for a moment. Trump is calling it the “Patriot of the Year Award,” but it’s actually an honorary Patriot of the Year award because the actual awards “honor and recognize America’s finest patriots, including military veterans, first responders and other inspirational everyday heroes.”
In other words, people who fight in wars or run into burning buildings, all stuff that Trump is too cowardly to do. So he gets the honorary award.
Okay, back to the speech and Trump’s new idea for elections.
“We have to get back in and we want to change it all. We want to go to paper ballots. We want to go to same-day voting. We want to go to citizenship papers, and we want to go to voter ID. It’s very simple. We want to get rid of mail-in voting.”
