Trump Wants to Give Up Command of NATO
Congressional Republicans are pushing back
So the courts are starting to push back against Trump and Musk saying they can’t do stuff like mass firings for no reason other than “because I said so,” or mass deportations without court hearings cuz who has time for that shit when you’ve paid $6 million and the planes are on the tarmac ready to go?
And while all of us are breathlessly watching to see if Trump just ignores the rulings and what will happen when he does, it appears that maybe … just maybe … Congressional Republicans have finally located their spines and are standing up to Trump.
Here’s what’s happening.
The latest cost-savings idea from whoever it is that comes up with these lame ideas is to reorganize the military command.
I’m assuming that no one has asked the military how they feel about it.
The idea is to combine the European Command and the African Command into one ginormous command. Closer to home, the Northern Command (as in North America) and Southern Command (as in Central and South America) would be combined.
Cost savings? A cool $270 million. Sounds good right? Until you consider that that is a mere 0.03% of the Defense Department’s $850 billion annual budget.
