Why I don’t blame Harris
Long time readers know how much I love the words “I told you so.” But this is one of those rare occasions when I am not happy about being right about something. Trump won the 2024 election just like I knew he would. But that means the loss of our democracy, even our way of life. I see only dark days ahead.
Looking for a scapegoat? Look no farther than the DNC who allowed their weakest candidate to go up against Trump. It’s been bothering me for months why they allowed this to happen. They knew that she was going lose. Then it occurred to me … conspiracy theory alert! … they had made a deal with Biden.
Here’s my theory. Biden agreed to drop out of the race only if Harris took his place as the nominee. Why Harris? Because she was a close friend of Biden’s beloved son Beau. Even after his death, she stayed in touch and became a part of the Biden family. That’s why he chose her to be his VP and why he wanted her to take his place as the nominee. It’s what Beau would have wanted.
The DNC agreed to the substitution because they knew that they would definitely lose with Biden as the nominee but maybe with a lot of help, they thought they could nudge Harris over the finish line and into the history books as the first woman and first Black woman president.
