Why are we not surprised?

Okey, dokey. Trump’s first 100 days will be up on April 30. He’s done everything that he promised he would do. His co-president slashed and burned his way through the government while Trump tariffed the entire world, including some hapless penguins, deported any Hispanic men with tattoos that ICE could get their hands on losing a couple in the process, threatened law firms and institutions of higher education and gilded the Oval Office.

His numbers must be through the roof, right? Not quite. He started his term behind other presidents. His approval rating one week after his inauguration was 52%. That’s the second-lowest approval rating for a president’s first week in modern history.

And who had the lowest approval rating for a president during his first week in office? Trump in the first week of his first term back in 2017.

No surprise there.

Since January, Trump’s approval rating has sunk to 45%, almost as bad as Biden whose approval rating hung around the low 40s until he made the mistake of running for reelection. By the time he finished screwing that up, his approval rating had sunk to the 30s.

So, we keep hearing that Trump’s support among the MAGA morons hasn’t wavered despite his bull in the china shop style…
