Trump’s First 2024 Campaign Rally

It was a pathetic effort in the hot Texas sun

Trump held his first rally on Saturday, March 25, months after his November announcement. I’m still puzzled why he has taken so long to get his campaign off the ground.

And I still think that he had COVID in November. He announced and then disappeared, only attending conferences and giving speeches by video.

He’s not afraid of the virus. He lives in Florida where they don’t believe in masking or social distancing so the only explanation for his avoidance of public gatherings is if he was recovering from another bout of COVID. The variant that was circulating last fall left sufferers extremely fatigued for weeks or even months.

Everyone is making a big deal about the location of the rally in Waco, Texas, the site of the deadly siege at the compound of the Branch Davidian sect. Personally, I think that it had nothing to do with that. What they were looking for was crowds. Big crowds.

Remember, Trump’s first two events at the end of January were sparsely attended. At an event held at the capital of South Carolina, of the 500 people who were invited to attend only about 200 bothered to show up. I wrote about it here.
