Trump’s New Travel Bans

Okay, let’s get back to those travel bans. Trump, as usual, wants to ban people from certain … cough, predominantly Muslim … countries just like last time. Only this time, cuz everything is bigger and better in his second administration, instead just a half dozen countries, he wants to ban people from 43 countries.

According to the NYT, there is a list of 43 countries circulating around the State Department for formal vetting before being presented to the White House. On that list are three categories.

Red — all travel banned

Orange — visas sharply restricted

Yellow — 60 days to address concerns

Let’s tackle these one at a time, starting with the compete ban on travel from the following 11 countries:

Afghanistan

Bhutan

Cuba

Iran

Libya

North Korea

Somalia

Sudan

Syria

Venezuela

Yemen

Ten of those countries make sense. They are considered terrorist or terrorist-supporting states, but Bhutan?
