Trump’s Transition Shows How He Will Govern
He is ignoring the laws and norms
For those of you who have been wondering how Trump could possibly become a dictator on Day One and then deliberately color outside the lines for the rest of his term, take a look at how he and his team have been handling the transition.
Presidential transitions have lots of rules and traditions. Trump is gleefully stomping all over them.
Remember when I wrote about Trump not signing the required ethics plan so that the presidential transition could go forward? Whelp, he’s still not signing it. Hell, I don’t think anyone has even bothered to write up an ethics plan for him.
As long as he refuses to sign one, the General Services Administration (GSA) can’t go forward with their part of the transition. So no $7.2 million, no offices, no computers, no emails, no access to the departments his appointees will be overseeing, etc., etc.
The good news is that Trump can fundraise from his donors with no limits on the amount of their donations and no need to report who the donors are. So fuck you GSA!
