Two Groups Trying to Reform the Democratic Party
But is it too little, too late?
Slowly, but surely … literally by inches … the Democratic Party is making the changes that it needs to make to earn Americans’ trust and votes. It may be too little, too late right now, but Trump won’t live forever and when he has exited the public stage, the Democrats may be poised for a comeback.
Maybe.
There are two groups working on reforming the Democratic Party, neither of which include the fossils currently serving in Congress.
The first group, the States Forum, is a network of state legislators and policy thinkers, who are focused on state-level initiatives that could be used by other states and even nationally.
That’s a great start. Remember, the Democratic Party seemingly has no agenda other than licking its wounds after losing to Trump last year. And state legislators are closer to their constituents and their needs than legislators in Congress who live in a beltway bubble, impervious to the reality that the rest of us live in.
