Two Reasons Why You Should Be Worried About the 2024 Election
It’s all about impediments to voting
Well, I just found another reason to be worried about the 2024 election. Two reasons, actually. The Post Office and Jim Crow rearing its ugly head.
Let’s start with the Post Office. Postmaster Louis DeJoy, a Trump holdover who still holds his job as postmaster general cuz Biden seems incapable of addressing urgent problems like the border and the deteriorating state of the post office, is still hard at it, wrecking the agency he was appointed to head.

His newest idea to guarantee that no one gets mail delivery is to switch over to regional distribution centers, kinda like the airlines’ hub and spoke setup. According to DeJoy this is supposed to “reduce costs, improve reliability and make the Postal Service more competitive.”
Instead, the result of this innovation has been described as a “dumpster fire” by Leo Raymond, a former Postal Service manager and managing director of Mailers Hub, an industry group for direct mail companies. Ya know, junk mailers.
