Two Unfit Leaders
Fascists have taken over the Republican Party
Sometimes there is just too much going on in the political world to make it easy to choose just one topic. So today, I want to zero in on two people, both considered leaders in the Republican Party and ask one simple question: WTF?
Let’s start with Rep. Jim Jordan who has been trying … unsuccessfully, it turns out … to intimidate people into voting for him for Speaker of the House. The Speaker of the House is second in line to the presidency, so you kinda want someone who is relatively normal and level-headed.
Jordan was an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University from 1987 to 1995. While he was there, the team doctor was sexually assaulting and raping student wrestlers. Jordan claims he was unaware of it. Which makes him either completely out of touch with the athletes he was coaching or a fucking moron. Your choice.
He got himself elected to Congress in 2006 where he co-founded the House Freedom Caucus. The term “Freedom Caucus” is an oxymoron. The only freedom this group advocates for is the freedom to disrupt the work of the House as much as possible. Jordan acquired the epithet of “legislative terrorist” while not passing a single piece of legislation with his name on it. Am I the only one who wonders if he…
