I had hoped to be able to put the results of the 2024 presidential election in the rearview mirror. I wrote about it once. Didn’t think that I would have to write about it again. I was wrong. I’m seeing a lot of articles analyzing why Harris lost, and more worrying, concern about “missing” Democratic votes.

Please God, let’s not go down that road again. There were no “missing” votes. There were just Democratic voters who didn’t want to vote for Harris.

Harris supporters are making the same mistake that Trump did in 2020. Yeah, I know. No one wants to be compared to Trump, but in this case, it’s true.

Trump couldn’t understand why he lost in 2020 for a coupla reasons, one of which was crowd size. He attracted enormous crowds to his rallies which in his mind meant enormous crowds at the voting booths. What he didn’t grasp was that while it was impressive to attract tens of thousands of people to a rally, there are tens of millions of people voting.

Big difference.

Harris supporters are doing the same thing. She attracted enormous crowds to her rallies but that didn’t translate directly to enormous crowds at the voting booths. Again, tens of thousands versus tens of millions.
