Where’s the Enthusiasm?

Voters are not as excited about Harris as you are

So I wrote a little piece about Harris that was not well received. Because I feel that she is not the best candidate that the Democrats could have chosen, I was flamed in the comments. I was insulted, accused of hating Harris and the Democrats, and declared a Trump convert.

I’m not complaining, by the way. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. What I thought was most interesting is that the polls do not reflect the same … shall we say enthusiasm … as the people who commented on my article.

Both the Cook Political Report’s and the New York Times’ poll averages show Harris locked in a statistical tie with Trump. The only good news is that she is losing to Trump by less than Biden was losing to Trump.

Go ahead. Click on the links and see for yourselves. These are all polls that were taken AFTER I wrote my article. And after the record-setting donations. And after the huge rallies and zoom calls and fawning media coverage.

What we have here is the political equivalent of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour. Record-breaking crowds in every city she has shows making it seem like she is the most popular person on the planet. But what you don’t see are the hundreds of millions of people who are not fans of Taylor Swift.
