Why Are People Shooting at Trump?
Trump assassination was not on my bingo card
Ya know, I never thought that I would find political assassinations or attempted political assassinations fascinating. But the two attempts on Trump’s life have really piqued my interest.
Granted Trump has been encouraging violence, just not directed at him. I would have expected that assassins would be trying to take out Biden, and then when he was replaced, trying to take out Harris.
So why are people shooting at Trump instead?
The first assassination attempt against Trump was puzzling. It honestly feels like a conspiracy with the Secret Service in on it. Why else would they have left a gaping hole in their security perimeter? A hole big enough for a rank amateur to slip through and take shooting practice at Trump?
And the assassin himself. He really stumps me. He seemingly had no motive. It’s normal for an assassin or would-be assassin to have a cause, a grudge, or even just a desire to be famous. This guy seemingly had none of those.
It’s almost as if he just got up one day and decided to crawl on to a roof and try to kill Trump for the hell of it.
Or, in my conspiracy theory, he was recruited by someone, promised a shitload of money if he would crawl on to…
