Oops. The Democratic convention is so late this year, that Biden will not become their official nominee until after the deadline to get on the ballot in both Ohio and Alabama.

Yup, the deadline to get your candidate on the ballot in Ohio is August 7 and on August 15 in Alabama. The Democratic convention won’t take place until August 19–22. So technically there won’t be a Democratic candidate until then.

Technically. Cuz we all know that Biden will be the candidate. The convention is just a formality.

First of all, I want to know what moron is responsible for this. Who the hell scheduled a convention for late August? They had to have known about the ballot deadlines in all 50 states. They’re the same damn dates every damn year. They’re not like Easter. The dates don’t change from year to year based on phases of the moon.

Same. Damn. Dates.

And it’s not like Chicago was booked up every other day in 2024 and only had those dates available. It’s the freakin’ Democratic convention. It only happens once every four years. It means tons of jobs and revenue for the city.
