Will Trump’s Conviction Cost Him the Election?
Polls show that voters won’t vote for him if convicted
So, like everyone else, I wasn’t surprised that Trump was convicted. My next thought was, will this affect his chances of winning in November? The short answer is no. Here’s why.
Recent polls show that some Trump supporters and some independents leaning Trump won’t vote for him if he is convicted. There’s just one problem with that. The pundits seem to interpret that as those voters would move from the Trump column to the Biden column.
No way that will happen. They are more likely to vote third party or not at all, rather than vote for Biden.
So, does that mean fewer voters for Trump, so Biden will have enough votes to squeak through? No again.
What the pundits and talking heads seem to be missing is that Trump lies. He is already spinning this whole conviction thing as making him a victim of weaponized government and the Biden administration.
Which means that all of those voters who said that they wouldn’t vote for him if he is convicted, won’t see the conviction as a bad thing for Trump. Instead, they will see it as victimization of Trump.
Now, add on to that the fact that the Biden campaign has no plans to exploit this…
