Conservative Group Is Suing a Black-Owned Venture Capital Fund for Racial Discrimination
They claim that affirmative action is illegal in the workplace
Hey, remember the Supreme Court decision in favor of the web designer who didn’t want to design wedding websites for gay couples? And then a hair salon owner stretched that decision to justify refusing service to transgender people?
It’s happening again, folks.
This time it’s the Supreme Court decision eliminating the use of affirmative action in college admissions. This decision is being stretched to cover the workplace even though workplaces were never mentioned in the case or the decision.
Here’s what’s going on. The American Alliance for Equal Rights is suing the Fearless Fund claiming it is “operating a racially-discriminatory program in violation of the Civil Rights Act.”
Really? The Fearless Fund, which was founded by three Black women, Ayana Parsons, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Arian Simone, is a venture capital fund that supports Black women and other minority-owned small businesses.
