Texas Governor Signs Bill Denying Water to Workers
He also signed bills eliminating DEI and banning transgender students from playing on teams that match their gender
Looks like I spoke too soon. Remember yesterday when I was celebrating good news coming out of Texas?
Seems that while I was celebrating, Gov. Greg Abbott was signing bills in what appears to be an effort to out-DeSantis Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
In his race to the bottom, Abbott is now putting lives at risk.
Let’s look at three bills he signed this week.
First up was a bill to eliminate DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) in all of the state colleges and universities. DeSantis already did this in Florida last month, saying:
“DEI is better viewed as standing for discrimination, exclusion, and indoctrination. In reality, what this concept of DEI has been is to attempt to impose orthodoxy on the university, and not even necessarily in the classroom, but through the administrative apparatus of the university itself, and that manifests itself in a number of different ways.”
