Trump Claims Earnings of $1.2 Billion

But he is still using political donations to pay his army of lawyers

Hey, remember back in June when I was talking about Trump using campaign donations to pay his legal bills? At first, 99% of donations were going for his campaign and only 1% was going to his leadership PAC to pay his legal team.

Then the split was “adjusted” to 90% political campaign and 10% leadership PAC/legal bills. That was back in March. Political finances are reported quarterly, so I didn’t have access to more recent figures.

Well, now I do and it’s ugly.

Between March and June, Trump raised $35 million. He likes to remind you that it’s more than any of his rivals. Here’s what he’s not telling you. Only $17.7 million of that went to his campaign. The rest went to his leadership PAC to pay his mounting legal costs.

Are Trump’s supporters aware that he is using their donations to pay for an army of lawyers who are defending him in more and more legal cases? My guess is that yes, they are well aware of it and don’t care because they feel that he is being unfairly prosecuted.
