Trump’s Leadership PAC Is Running Out of Money
It has requested a $60 million refund of a donation
It wasn’t that long ago that I was writing in amazement that Trump was actually paying his legal bills. Granted, he was using funds from his leadership PAC, Save America, because Trump never pays for anything out of his own pocket.
In fact, he doesn’t think that vendors, including lawyers, should be paid at all. The notoriety of working for Trump should be enough. He regards it as free advertising. For most of us, free advertising doesn’t pay the rent.
Save America PAC started the year with $18 million in the bank. Trump added another $18 million in the second quarter. He raised $14.5 million in the first quarter, but I don’t have any information on how much of that went to his leadership PAC.
Those figures sound impressive, but it’s not enough. He is facing two indictments with possibly another two on the horizon. His lawyers are burning through his cash at an alarming rate.
So alarming, that Save America PAC has asked for a refund of $60 million that it had donated to another of Trump’s PACs, Make America Great Again. Make America Great Again is a super PAC.
